The Shelford House Bed and Breakfast Inn is one of the finest
examples of Queen Anne style Victorian architecture in the Cloverdale,
California area. Located in Sonoma Valley Wine Country - between
Healdsburg and the Mendocino Coast (near Hopland) - our Inn
is ideal for those visiting California for a vacation, romantic
weekend getaway, honeymoon or anniversary!
Our accommodations are best
suited for adult travelers and children OVER the age of 12.
The home was originally built in 1885 by Eurastus M.
Shelford on property given to him by his father, John Shelford
III, that was purchased in 1863 as part of the Rancho Musalacon
Land Grant. Six generations of the Shelford family have lived
either in the house or adjoining ranch properties for over one
hundred and thirty years.
Today, The Shelford House is a wonderfully restored Bed &
Breakfast Inn, which combines modern comforts with the nostalgia
of Victorian splendor. Complementing the Inn, is a spacious
Carriage House that is also decorated in the Victorian Style.
Located on a knoll, guests relax on the wrap around porch and
experience an endless view of the vineyards of the Alexander
Valley that surround the Inn.

berry french toast, and flavored sausages. Extra special to
our cuisine is Anna's award winning baked goods, jams &
jellies!
