LOOKING
BACK ...
The
home was originally built in 1885 by Eurastus
M. Shelford on property given to him by his father,
John Shelford III, that was purchased in 1863
as part of the Rancho Musalacon Land Grant. Six
generations of the Shelford family have lived
either in the house or adjoining ranch properties
for over one hundred and thirty years.

| All
guestrooms have 300+ thread count sheets and heirloom antiques.
You will feel like Royalty on the firm but cozy beds. Each
guest bath is complete with fluffy towels, custom monogrammed
amenities, and soft robes. |
| Enjoy
breakfast on heirloom china & hand made linens, and
meet guests from all over the world. Our century old gazebo
is a wine tank from the famous Italian Swiss Colony Winery
near Cloverdale -
perfect for afternoon teas. |
| You
can view the newly planted lavender field. Come during July
and we will give you a bouquet to take home. You will surely
love the vibrant colors and variety of beautiful flowers
in the many gardens. |
| Enter
the lovely Victorian garden where you can sit and watch
the butterflies and hummingbirds, or you may be lucky enough
to see the local red neck finches that visit the bird feeders
each day. Colorful stained glass windows, doors, and lamps
are thoughtfully appointed throughout the Inn. Need to rest
your feet? You can see for miles from the wrap around porch
while sitting with your special someone on the swing. |
